I closed a few Synch backed store cards a few weeks ago, and got my response letters back in the mail. Im hitting a hightlight here for anyone that isnt aware of how Synch works, when closing cards of theirs.
If you ever want to apply again for THAT SAME CC, you have to wait 12 months to do so.
For example, I closed BP Gas card. If I decide I want that CC again in the future, their policy is, I have to wait 12 months to reapply.
Just wanted to let everyone know, in case you werent aware...
Just closed my JCPenney card a few days ago. Thought about it the next day and how it might affect my util. Was my highest credit limit at the time, but only opened it a few months ago.
I found out the hard way too. I closed a Lowes card that only had a $400 CL that I truly never used in the year I had the card. When I applied for it when I was in a much better financial position in April I got a flat out denial, but it never even had a HP. I found out recently that it was the 12 month rule, however the supervisor I spoke to apparently removed that restriction because when I reapplied for it on June 24, it didn't deny me like I expected, it gave me an approval. The supervisor had told me to call as soon as I applied and they would immediately review it, which I ended up not having to do because of him removing it.
Anyway, lesson learned and thanks for sharing for those who also have found out the hard way.
Oops, wrong CCC
