My Southwest card is up for renewal in a couple of weeks so I decided to ask if I could close it but move the credit line ($6,500) to my Amazon card. The Southwest card was great for the signup bonus but not worth keeping around since I also have the Chase Hyatt and Barclay Arrival. So I sent a secure message to Chase last night asking if a line transfer was possible with my cancellation, and I got a response today that they successfully processed the line transfer and card closure. That was so easy!
So now my paltry little $1,100 Amazon card is a much more appealing $7,600
Congrats. Did you use the card within the last 30 days? Often they withhold $500 from transferring over.

I have not. I think my last purchase on it was 4 months ago.

Good to know. Thanks.
Nice job, I have the same plan when my AF comes up.
For those of you that have done this, I'm curious how the limit reports on the closed account? Does it show that it was say a 5k limit or does it say 0? I suppose it doesn't really matter since it's a closed account, but I'm curious how Chase reports it.
