Well OP hasn't said in this thread how many INQs he currently has, but in another thread from October he said he had over 45 INQs on EQ and EX. Since that was a few months ago that number could have changed dramatically. But I don't know; he hasn't said.
I have TU -16 inq FICO 762; EQ -26 inq FICO 723, EX - 44 inq FICO 759......... last app was 11/09/15 approved for the FRN mastercard 6K.........Salary 150K 6-8% utilization. Waiting on the letter........to see what they say. Last month I had several cards report balances that usually report 0 balance after a 2 week vacation.......have since paid them off but they haven't reported 0 balances yet.
26 EQ inquiries and 44 EX inquiries is a lot, I'm sure that was a factor. Still very sorry that it happened.

Agree humuhumunukunukuapua.
Ordinarily for them especially, even those wouldn't have been of that much of an issue (before), but as has been expressed, and with more reports coming in, they are scrutinizing far more heavily then they ever did before.
Interesting info on Comenity thinking (little old but seems to still apply) : http://www.startribune.com/when-is-good-credit-too-good-ask-gander-mountain/97125744/
BBB report gives additional insight of how big they are and their practices: Comenity Bank, which formerly did business as World Financial Network Bank, and Comenity Capital Bank, which formerly did business as World Capital Bank, are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Alliance Data Systems
That Gander Mountain article is awful. I have never heard of a bank trying to reject customers with 800 FICO scores. They are crazy.
I cannot wait until I can close my remaining two Visa accounts with them and be done with Comenity, but right now that would be more of a utilization hit than I care to take. Hoping to be able to do so at end of this year.
@CreditDunce wrote:1) The fewer Comenity store cards. the better your auto insurance score is. They may be saving you quite a bit of money on your insurance. At least once the cards fall off.
2) If you are going to write a casino about the credit card closures. I would politely mention that you are now a free agent. Maybe they should offer you something to encourage you visit Caesars.
Is it Comenity cards specifically, or just the number of credit cards in general?
NFCU MR: $25K | Venture: $21K | Amex ED: $18K | NFCU CR: $18K | Amex BCE: $15K | IT #1: $17.5K | PNC Core: $15K | PPMC: $12K | Wells Fargo: $11K | Savor: 12K | Cap1 QS: $8.5K | Barclays Rewards: $7.75K | IT #2: $7.3K | MLife: $9.5K | Sportsman's Guide: $8.7K | PenFed PR: $5.5K | Elan Plat: $2.3K | TRV: $3.6K | BotW: $3K

I wish that someone would send the url to the Comenity AA thread to partners of Comenity and invite them to take a look at how well (or not so well) their bank partner is representing them and making them look as a company.
Let them know that Comenity's behavior is making many people think twice about shoppping at that partner's particular store, and is creating a negative impression.
Perhaps they would not care, but it would certainly be eye-opening.
You Know What......I LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!
Remember...I have a contact over there (ergo...the memos)....maybe I can find a symapthetic corporate contact who would be interested in what his/her investment is doing with his/her shareholder funds.....
hmmmmm
