Cap One will be put to pasture in a couple of weeks. I've had the card since 1998 and it's my second longest history on my credit profile. When I close the account, does the 10 years start from the month I close it, or from when the account was first opened? I just want to be sure that when the 10 years is up and it falls off my profile, my new cards also have a 10 year history to pick up the slack, keeping my AAoA relatively lengthly (currently a few months over 6 years).
