I have had a Kays card for 1yr now, $7600 limit.

Spent $1200 intitially, when card was opened, and that has been paid off in full.

Card has a $0 balance as we speak.

How do I go about getting a CLI for a larger amount? In store only? via phone?

Also, does Kays do SP CLI or is only a HP?

I asked while in store and the Mgr. requested one for me and got it with no HP.

My reports are frozen so it was definitely a SP, now I would think if yours are not frozen they might go HP.

I'm pretty sure existing lenders can pull right through your freeze.

+1

Yes, there is evidence that suggests that - again depending on the lender.

[ Edited ]

Just to add another data point to this discussion:

I've had my Kay's card since December 2012 and only used it twice (once upon opening acct & once in June for watch repair).

Kay did an AR on 09/01/13 and gave me a $2400 auto-CLI on 10/10/13...OP, check your TU report and see if they softed you.  In my congratulations letter they specifically mentioned the upcoming holidays and I quote, "To help make your holidays absolutely magical, I am pleased to inform you that your line of credit has been extended to $X,XXX."

Any advice given is always YMMV...
