Re: Kay Jewelers Card

When I got mine in 2009, I had three starter cards, two with a CL of $300 and the other with a CL of $500.  I can't remember my income at that time but I know it was under $25,000, probably around $20,000.  I don't know what my credit scores were at that time - I know they were bad and there is a good chance they were under or around 600.  I was very suprised to get a CL of around $3000 with Kay.  And they did an auto CLI which what I consider very little card use.

If you are going to Kay anytime soon, please keep us updated on your results.

Barclays USAir World MC $8300 - DCU $7500 - USAA World MC $7000 - PayPal Extras MC (GE) $5500 - Chase Saphire Preferred $5000 - Discover It $6000 - Barclays Sallie May $2700 - Chase Freedom $1000 - Capital One $8500 (business) - store cards ranging from $500-$9500

thats every detail I was looking for, score current card limits, and income. I am going to Kay this month. As soon as EQ removes my final judgment and my CCs update to $30 balance and $0 I plan to apply. I will let you guys know what the outcome is!

Thanks again :smileyhappy:

Re: Kay Jewelers Card

Kay's was very nice to me. I had a BK in '08 and 4 current open tradelines that are current and PIF every moth, and Kay's gave me 5100 cl. I do make 54k and i think that helps alot, along with being 4 years current on ALL bills. IMO you shouldnt have no problem getting a decent limit with them. Good luck and keep us informed.

Re: Kay Jewelers Card

well my judgment came off EQ today, only 5 points :smileysad: lol but once my CC payments reflect it'll bring my util down to 6% from 96%. myfico sim has this bringing my score to the 660-700 range. so cross your fingers and as soon as they hit Im headed up to kays.

Very nervous though, as this is the first credit app where I wasnt gauranteed approval (my other CCs are only because one is secured and I was an employee of my best card issuer, unsecured rewards, otherwise I wouldve been declined) So im a little scared to hear a declined after 2 years of work, but keep crossing those fingers and i should have an update in a couple weeks!

Thanks guys! :smileyhappy:

Well, my CC util updated (only one card so far) and I got my SW alert so... I couldnt wait for the other to update, last night I went into the store and found the perfect ring. I hate applying for credit and was so nervous waiting for the decision, as this is the first credit app Ive put in, where I wasnt gauranteed approval, in a long long time.

Came back approved for 0% down, 0% for 12 months and a CL of 4100 :smileyhappy:

Thanks for all of your help, I'll be waiting until april to see where my score is and try to add some prime cards! thanks guys!
