Ugh, sorry! I won't be rushing out to get that store card anytime soon! JCP is awesome with CLI increases, if that matters.  Started out 3 mos ago with $400CL. Currently at $3500CL.

I'm a huge fan of JCP.   They helped me out when no one else would.  My $250 approval back in November 2012 was my first step in an active rebuild.  When I got my first CLI to $750, it felt great and I wanted to learn how to make it happen again!   Eventually, I found myFICO.    JCP is still growing with me...now it's at $8K.

It's a shame Kohl's is slow growing for OP, but hopefully the Cap One EO can remedy that.

As relentless as they are at checkout for you to apply for the Kohls card you would think the limits would increase. Mine has not changed either.

Re: Kohls Stuck At 300

My card is 18 months old. Started at 300 then one year later called in for CLI bumped it to 700. Waited six months and called again and they bumped to 1500. I think it helps that I have a relationship with Cap one for over 2 1/2 years. Kohls is a weird bird for sure.

What's so special about the card? Frequent incentives? That's the only reason I have JCP. My one and only store card.

My mom has a Kohl's card and she gets TONs of coupons. LIke every week. If you're a big Kohl's shopper, it's probably worth it. Not sure if it's worth getting stuck at a $300 limit for eternity. Seems like Kohl's and Target are one in the same even though they're issued by different banks.

I actually hate shopping at Kohl's now since they're so pushy; I'm not a huge Kohl's shopper (and I do not want another store card, already regret the one I do have) and last year, Freedom gave 5% back for half the year there anyway.

Quicksilver $10,000 | Better Balance Rewards $2000 | Sallie Mae $3500 | Freedom $3500

Re: Kohls Stuck At $300

I was told by their executive office that I would never get an increase unless I took a hard pull for it. I declined and had my account closed I don't need a card that will not grow with me.

I Just Don't Understand Why, Not Matter How Old, How Much I Use, How Much I Pay, How Much My Other Cards Are Managed, How Many Improvements Occur With My Overall Credit, Kohls Will Not Increase My Line Past $300 & It's Frustrating Me...

I Asked The Rep If There Is Anything I Can Do, Anyone I Can Talk To, She Said NO.  The Computer Calls All The Shots.  She Told Me It Keeps Them All Against Their Will, Trapped In A Cubical Farm Taking Calls And Denying Requests For Additional Credit & They're All Powerless To Do Anything About it.   Grrrrrrr!!!!

You got a good cs rep, she told you their inner workings. That they have NO authority over the computer and that Kohl's upper mgmt in conjunction with Cap One mgmt chose to use a more stringent cli mehanism for their customer base. Neiman Marcus and Cap One are more loose with cli's probably because their average customer has higher income.

I agree with Macy's. You would be better served apping for their card IN STORE. Probably get a higher starting limit and less hassle getting cli's. SD Kohl's Smiley Happy .

What sre your Fico scores?  What accounts are on your bureaus?  What are the limits and ages of accounts? How old is the Kohl's account?
