Yes, especially, for new members (within the first 6 months - it's a requirement for all loan products). For my wife and I, they not only requested paystubs but also verification of employment over the phone (paystubs were not sufficient). We applied for two credit cards and a car loan. They are somewhat conservative. Good luck.
