Your Blue Cash Preferred is off... the 6k limit is only on the first 6k of groceries, after 6k of groceries at 6% it drops down to 1%, the other catagories are not limited by that number.
"You will earn a reward of 6% on the first $6,000 of eligible purchases in an annual reward year at supermarkets located in the U.S. (superstores and warehouse clubs are not considered supermarkets; 3% on eligible purchases of gasoline at gas stations located in the U.S. (superstores, supermarkets and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline are not considered gas stations); 3% on eligible purchases at select department stores located in the U.S. (The current list of select major department stores at which you can earn a 3% reward is available at americanexpress.com/rewards-info); and 1% on all other eligible purchases."
And same with the Everyday Preferred and Blue Cash Everyday, $6K limit is only on groceries.
At what point does it make sense to go with the amex everyday preferred over the amex everyday? Is it based on overall spend? The amount per year on groceries? This assumes someone can make the 30 transactions per month. (By the way is anyone else having problems with their spell checker?)

It depends on spend and how you value MR. So on non-category spend EDP earns an extra 0.3 MR per $ (assuming 30 transactions), on groceries 2.1MR extra per $ up to the $6K and 1.8MR extra per $ on gas. These extras have to be worth more than the AF.

all these points i think are meant to confuse a lot of people and marketing scheme. that's why its just best to say CASH BACK. Everyone loves cash and it's easier to count!
@Anonymous wrote:HOW IS EVERYONE LIKING THIER AMERICAN EXPRESS WHITE EVERYDAY CARD SO FAR ? BETTER THAN BLUE ?
Why does color matter and aren't you basically not allowed to have Amex cards anyways since you got FR'd and don't want to show Tax returns?

ED is not a CB card though ... MR points > CB depending on how you use your MR points ....

The yelling is also a little intense for this conversation.

Not from my point of view, but to each their own.
