Re: Leave me alone Chase!

I've been a Chase customer for 2 years.

I've had no problems with them, to be honest. I was given a 1,400 CL when I had a collection on my account and not the best of credit scores at a time when I really needed a second credit card.

I've really yet to have any type of problem with them, and my local branch has been nothing but helpful to me.

At least that's my personal account.

I like getting offers. It feels like they're asking me out to the prom and I get to say "no" every single time.

Makes me feel prettier.

I feel the same way! Hahaha.

I've mentioned most of what is to follow a few times on the threads already but here goes...

Chase CLDed me after I paid my card off! My CL was only $1K but my balance was like $950. But that's not why they lowered my credit limit. They did it because I have a very common name and Experian messed up my credit report. My CR was mingled with someone else who has the same first and last name (although a different spelling of the first name) as myself. When Chase saw the ridiculous amount of credit ($21K in limits with close to $20K maxed out) and student loans, car loans, furniture accounts, and CCs, they cut my CL from $1K to $300 (even though I had just paid it to $0). Unbeknownst to me, I went to change my address after I moved to find out that my CL had been cut to $300. When I figured out that my CR had been messed up, I called Experian and spent over an hour on the phone getting my CR fixed. I called Chase to get my CL restored and they talked to me like I was a dirty criminal and refused to look at my other two CRs that did not have any issues on them. It took them almost 3 months to fix my CL and no one even apologized. That was in 2010 and I have not used that card since July 2010. My card was the Sony Card and later bought out by Capital One. I still haven't used that card either.

Another unrelated issue with Chase to CCs is that I received a large amount of money and wanted to open a bank account with Chase (this was clearly before the CL issue). They wanted to hold my check for nearly 2 weeks and give me access to $200 (which I understand...to an extent) until the check cleared. While talking to the personal banker, he was trying to tell me how to spend my money and he advised me against purchasing the vehicle that I currently own. All I wanted to do was cash a check, not get unsolicited financial advice. The only good advice he gave me was to drive to the bank that the check was written on and cash it there after opening an account. Which I did and have been banking with that bank ever since. Not Chase.

And a third annoyance. When I first started working after college, my checks were Chase checks. Until my direct deposit cleared (it took 3 months...annoying), I had to deposit my check at the bank. Instead of waiting several days for my check to clear with Citi, I figured I would go to Chase and cash my check. They hassled me to cash my check instead of giving me my money. When they asked why I didn't want to open an account with Chase, I told them the two aforementioned stories and they tried to make it seem like it wasn't that bad. So reducing someone's CL because of a CB's mistake is OK? And refusing to fix it? Or giving unsolicited advice? I just don't get it...
