I think I remember reading that when amex does a triple pull its usually after they have decided to approve you, but are trying to determine the CL. When I got turned down for charge card I think they only pulled one report.
I got approved for an AMEX BCE at a year of AAoA. My highest was a discover it at 15 months and i also had a best buy card at 9months. At the time of applying for the BCE my Experian FICO was what they pulled and it was a 720. They gave me a 2000 credit limit. I would wait alot longer for the CSP. That's the Chase Sapphire Preferred right? I think their requirements for approval are alot higher.

At 6 months history I was approved for the Green charge card. It was a triple pull but that was worth it to me to lock in a 2012 membership year. After my first statement cut, I applied and was approved for their HHonors revolver. At 9 months of history they approved me for the BCE. I think it helped that I always pay in full and usually before the statement cuts. They seem to like that. So if you treat credit like that, they'll probably like you too!
I don't think you'll be approved for the CSP at 7 months, though. I think they only issue it with a credit line of $5000 or above. They like to see you with other high credit lines.
I'll have had 7 months with a 3k Freedom and a 5k venture by the time I apply, so I am hoping to be able to recon it. I had an old chase card that was closed out years ago but that too was only a 3k limit, so I think that is how I got back in with Chase and the freedom when I had no open revolvers.
No, I was referring to reconning with Chase if they deny my CSP application. I'm going to wait the full year before applying for amex.
