Listing balance transfers on app

I've researched this and haven't found many answers.

What gave been your experiences with listing bt on an app when applying? Any inside details about this when talking to analysts?

I wonder what happens if  you list like 10,000 and they only approve you for 7500? And are you more likely to get a higher limit by listing a large bt directly on the app?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences.

Re: Listing balance transfers on app

With my local credit union, I was able get a higher limit for requesting a balance transfer, but not sure thats the case with Discover and CHase, it would be good to know though

For me with Discover it didn't work so hot.  I app'd and decided to transfer my $1000 capital one card at the time (thinking along the lines of your theory, bigger CL).  I was approved for the card, and when I got it I was given exactly $1000 of which was 100% used because Discover sent a payment to Capital One for my BT.  Needless to say I learned my lesson with that one.
