Looking for Card recommendation

I'm thinking that in order to address my main weakness (history of late payments) that I would need to add a couple more tradelines.  My AAoA is good right now so don't want to add too many (1 or maybe 2).  I plan on apping for AMEX and NFCU in the future but need something else before then.

Any suggestions? (Note: I'm aware of Whogavemecredit site.  I'm looking for specific recommendations).  I would rather try to avoid any pulls to EX as I need that for AMEX later.  Not too concerned about NFCU as I don't think the inquiries will hurt me as much with them).

Cards I'm considering: Walmart Discover, Dillards store card, Barclays iTunes Visa....and long shots Discover More/Chase Freedom (Do I even have a chance on these two??)

Thanks,

Duncan

Re: Looking for Card recommendation

Given those scores I would garden for at least six months before applying for anything. Right now based on FICo scores alone you are borderline to be accepted, most likely denied. Make on time payments, wait it out for a bit and once those scores rise up then apply =)

Re: Looking for Card recommendation

Depends on what you are wanting to apply for, but I'd recommend applying once your scores are all around 670, 680 to increase your chances of approval. Obviously the higher the scores, the better your shot is
