Nvm saw it, let your BK fall off.  To bad that 1500 cl is cap 1 they're not gonna budge on a cli.

Re: Looking for My first 2K + card (newbie)

Ignore that FCR recommendation, that's junk as far as FICO is concerned.

Pay down the balances (that's your major FICO penalty, 60%+ utilization on two cards) and wait for the BK to fall off and you'll be fine.

Re: Looking for My first 2K + card (newbie)

Any idea as to your current FICO scores?

If you pay down your balances it should boost your scors a bit, then when the repo and BK fall off it seems you'll be in decent shape. I would try to add to your CC portfolio, maybe walmart card may be attainable, even Barclays if you pay balances down?

As Revelate mentioned, ignore the recommendation about 2k card holding you back. Still you want to get (or be set up to get) bigger limits for other reasons.

Re: Looking for My first 2K + card (newbie)

Get your balances and util down.  Remember to go for cli every 4 months on gemb accounts such as your Walmart card.

Re: Looking for My first 2K + card (newbie)

Pay down balanced. They aren't going to give you a nice CL if you're already maxed on current cards. BK is a no go with a lot of companies. Check out the BK friendly list

Re: Looking for My first 2K + card (newbie)

Thanks, I will have all my cards paid off in the next month. I have been pretty app shy for years I only applied for the Walmart card because I read some much about it here. I just want to be sure I am on the right track.
