Looks like most of citi's cards have become Visa. The Platinum Select now shows a Visa, the Dividend Platinum Select now shows Visa. You can still find the old MC versions with enough hunting, but I imagine even if I applied from those pages, I'd still get a Visa in the mail.

I called the customer service number to find out if they were still offering any of their MC products. I decided to apply for the Platinum Select Mastercard, since I have Discover and Chase Amazon, which product cash back and points back respectively. I was approved!!! With a 1k CL and a very high 20.99 APR, that part sucks. Next to Chase Amazon that will be my highest APR, I know that will never go down. But at least I'm approved and now have an MC added to my profile.

Just thought I'd give a heads-up. I received my MC card and it does NOT include Paypass. I called Citi to inquire and was told they no longer offer Paypass for any of their cards. This is completely different than what I was told over the phone last week. I had wanted to use the card in conjunction with Google Wallet, which requires Paypass. Now this makes it impossible. Had I known it didn't include paypass, I most likely wouldn't have applied and wasted a inq and HP. I'm curious if MC and Citi are splitting, because they're virtually non-existent on the Citi website, I had to call to inquire about the products in the first place.

Actually, Citi offers PayPass in the form of PayTag (a plastic tag that sticks to cellphone). Only lenders like Chase or Wells Fargo embedded RFID chip into credit cards.

Oh ok. I know Citi is listed on the MC website as offering Paypass as part of their debit cards, but then the platinum card is listed on Google's website as being usable with Google Wallet. So it's definitely confusing. Needless to say, both reps I spoke to are incorrect in what they're telling customers.

Thanks for clearing that up.  I already asked for a payment tag, so that should be on it's way soon.

Edit: Looks like Chase is pushing it's own service now, blink. Their regular website doesn't even show any Visa or MC logos, you have to google for it specifically.
