Looking for another good REBUILDER card.

I just recently got an Orchard Bank card with a $300 limit, and an offer from First Premier for a $200 CL, with $150 in innitial fees (no thanks).  I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for cards I might also get approved for, that are similar to Orchard, or if I should just wait and see what happens in 6 months with some good payments...

Thanks.

I would try Capital One. You should be able to get a 300 Dollar limit with a $39 AF. They should also offer to up the limit to $500 after 3 months consecutive use and payments. Might take them forever to report though. Smiley Happy Still waiting for my SO's card to report after 7 weeks. Orchard reported after the 1st statement cut. Cap One is far superior to First Premier.

Re: Looking for another good REBUILDER card.

What are your scores? And what baddies do you have on your reports.
I'm thinking maybe a Hooters card depending on what you have reporting. I think I heard that if you have a recent mortgage they will deny you though...so do a search on that first if you are thinking of applying. They have an AF but otherwise pretty good. I think my BF annual fee was like $39. Small price to pay to rebuild your credit.

Re: Looking for another good REBUILDER card.

My scores are in the 580 range.  I have an auto loan that's 11 months old, no lates.  My Orchard I just received, they haven't reported yet.  I have about 5 baddies from about 6 years ago.  I'm just starting fresh.  So I'm thinking there is more bad than good...

I know it's no fun...oh trust me, I know it's no fun, but I would suggest that you wait for the orchard card to report for about 6 months to build some positive history. Be sure to PIF most of the time and the other times let a small balance report. Don't pay anything late, at all....a new late is almost always going to tank your scores. In about 6 months check your scores again and see if you are above 600. If so, I'd try maybe Cap1 or Hooters, but try the site whogavemecredit.com or a do a search on here and find out what the minimal scores seem to be and who they will pull in your area before applying. Knowledge is power, so try to do your homework before apping. You don't want to waste inquiries on denials, that's even less fun.

The other thing you can look into is secured cards, maybe with your current bank. This is a much better option than First Premier.  I think BofA is a bit strict even with their secured cards, but possibly your own bank or a local credit union. Atleast with a secured card, you get the money back at the end, unlike the rebuilder cards that charge a fortune and keep your money!

Try Macy's and WalMart as well.

Re: Looking for another good REBUILDER card.

You could also try Credit One Bank.  Better than First Premier but not one that would grow with you.  Capitol One is a good way to go.  Also look at BOA Secured card.  Great card and will grow with you and after 9-12 months will become unsecured.

Re: Looking for another good REBUILDER card.

WAMU and Merrick but i would wait 'til those baddies fall off.  Stay far away from 1st Premier, Trubute, etc.

try this website.  make sure you know what tour fico score is first.  www.financeglobe.com/scorematch.  You punch in your score and whether you want 10 pts or 20 pts range and it will give you cards you are eligible for.  Again those baddies will fall in 7 years.
