I also can't believe you declined the offer from Discover. That card likely would have grown with you over time.

It took me 3 weeks to get approved for the Chase Freedom & I only got a $1000 limit. I took it with a smiling face because I finally got in the door with a prime CCC. I would call them and still see if they will give you the card.

You have to start somewhere and closing the door on prime lenders is not the right avenue to take.
