Low initial limit on my Discover It?

Got approved for the Discover It, got it in the mail yesterday. My limit is $1,500. My AAoA is short, about a year. But they pulled my EQU report, which has no baddies and it came back a 748. I really thought w a score in that range I would have been able to get 3k-4k. This is however my first cards w Discover, does that contribute to the lower initial limit?

Discover can be conservative on initial CL's. it also appears that is your highest CL- discover likes usage and they have been known to give auto CLI's after 3 mos.

According to your sig they actually gave you your highest limit. Discover is so conservative, drives me crazy. I was approved on Saturday but only for freaking $500. I have 4 cards that are $5000+ and my exposure with each of my lenders is at least $6000 for each. Ridiculous! They say they're really good about CLI's every 90 days.

Yea, currently my highest. And I love the card. Thanks Lexi for the quick response! I plan to PIF and maybe I'll get lucky enough for that 3 month CLI

Thanks Broseph. After hearing about your CL compared to your other cards maybe mine isn't so bad. I'm hoping for that 90 day CLI too though

What APR did you get'? I applied through a pre-approval offer thy had for me online; 15 months 0% purchases and BT, Then 10.99% after that. I was shocked that they actually gave me the 10.99. My lowest apr was my nordstrom visa at 14.9!

Wow, the 10.99% is awesome! Mine is 0% for 14 months, then 17.99%

Discover is very conservative. My account with them is a year old and I've only had one CLI that I initated and it was a HP. $1500--$2000. Be patient and it will grow.

dont feel so bad, they do seem to be really conservitive, all my CL's are at $5k or above, my AAoA is 5 years with my oldest being 16 years!

they still only gave $1500 initial line but I will say, today marked 6 months that I have the card and like clockwork, on 3 months they gave me a CLI and today is 6 months and this moring I got another CLI.

And remember that companies don't only look at scores. If you had the same score but an AAoA of 5 years instead of 1 you would be looking at maybe 5 digit CLs.
