I sat down with my Mom today to help her begin the process of improving her credit. She had a BK in 2003 (may have been '04); she applied for and was approved online for  Lowes card, don't know the credit limit yet.

Purchased her FICO scores earlier today; EX is the highest at 620; EQ and TU were under 550.

No phone number.... In all honesty I searched for all of a few minutes before giving up and telling her to hang on to find out the cl.

Yes, GEMB has been very nice this past week to those of us with bankruptcies.  If you need more cards, now is the time to strike.  I did not have luck getting their bank card though.  They drew the line there!   You can pretty much call any GEMB number and they will give you the information.  This is the Lowes phone number (800) 444-1408.  If you do not have luck try Walmart @ 888-699-9581 or 877-294-7880.  She will be asked twice to enter  her card number no matter which number you call.  The third request will be for her soc.  Once she gives that, her account info. will be given to her automatedly.

Let us know what she got.

Well, not the greatest limits, but not the greatest scores either   So I am actually ecstatic about it!

Lowes  $700.00

Paypal Buyers Credit $600.00

Walmart $500.00

Chevron $300.00

JCPenney $250.00

I was told by the woman who did my application at Walmart to call back after my third statement to request a CLI.  I know they will not consider one before then.

you got those all this week?? gemb does love you..hahahaha those are pretty good limits with your scores..i wasnt as lucky as you i have a hard time until recently getting any love much less gemb love

Yip started apping last weekend.  My bk was in 10 or 9/03.  Well, before my TU went above 600.00 I got turned down by Walmart twice this year and several times last and Chevron once this year.  Each time they pulled TU so I just assumed that being over 600 had something to do with it since this was when I started getting approved.  It started when I applied for the Ebay M/C and was approved for the Paypal Buyers Credit instead.

From there, I figure... why not keep trying.... other than the problem with Walmart not being able to verify my identity, it has been a smooth ride.  However, there is no Chevron ANYWHERE near me.  I just apped for the card because GEMB was being generous and I could not get any other gas card.  Hopefully, I can get to use the card before they close it.

yea dont know why i have been denied twice by walmart, once i think it said for bk that was in nov and i applied again in feb and never rcvd a letter why denied..it kind of irks me
