No, you can not get the card without a hard pull, that is completely un-avoidable. But as many may not know, an in-store credit line increase will always be a soft pull no matter what.

I would think for departments where large purchases are often made... such as flooring, appliances, etc.  Basically, the types of purchases that people would more commonly throw in a store card and ride out some 0 interest on if that makes sense.

My guess would be the departments with a dedicated sales desk/terminal.

I would say you're better off waiting until you have to purchase a large applicance or something along those lines so you can see if you happen to be pre-qualified. The returns/Customer Service desk will not display pre-qualifications.

As for the promotions, i'll do whatever I can do while staying within the legal boundries of my position, if the wrong person found out that I was distributing that information, I'd be in deep **bleep**.

The special project financing promotions apply ONLY to single transactions. If you are already discussing a remodel or what have you, the specialist will often combine all areas of the order into a single order. Make sure you're ready to tackle all aspects of a remodel if you're interested in taking advantage of the promotions, everything is usually done all at once.
