Lowe's Rewards Visa

Does anybody know how to get upgraded to the Visa? Is this a credit solutions thing, or wait on a special offer, or will it never happen if you have the consumer credit card?

Re: Lowe's Rewards Visa

I think that card was discontinued in 12' or 13'

Some are grandfathered in i think but as far as i know it's no longer available (unless they have a new co-branded card?)

Thank you, I see the card when I log into my account and didn't know, I wouldn;t use it outside of Lowe's if I got it but a bank card is a step above a store card on your report... I like your note to self in your sig...

Re: Lowe's Rewards Visa

Why would the VISA version be a step above the store card on your report?

I don't know if it would make any impact on my report because I have other bank cards, but it does read whether each card is a bank or store card and the algorithm looks at bank cards as slightly higher quality than store cards. I believe the logic goes like this "Person A has a store card that they are using responsibly and person b has a bank card that they are using reasonably. Person B is better because they bank card can be used for any purchase and the store card for items only at that store."

Re: Lowe's Rewards Visa

Do you have data to back this up? From my understanding FICO doesn't care if it's a "bank" card or store card.

Re: Lowe's Rewards Visa

No, that's what I have always been told and it makes sense to me. I am not 100% on the accuracy. Maybe somebody else can chime in?
