Regarding paying in full, some say it's best to pay BEFORE the statement hits and some say after. Is there any hard data on this?
Everything I've read says that you have to wait a few months after your 0% expires, so I'd wait a while. That's why I'm going to ask at 1.5 years.
The difference between before and after just has to do with your credit score. I doubt AMEX actually cares.

I didn't think about the 0%, but that makes sense. I'm sure I'll just wait it out. The length of the promotional period should be more than enough to establish a good working relationship with them as well as improve my score, so SURELY they'll be willing to drop my rate when the time comes.
