Sitiing here paying the bills, and I noticed this on the Macy's statement:

"In the coming months, your Macy's store account will be managed according to a credit limit. The credit limit for your account will appear on a future
statement along with information about this change.""

Is this their way of saying I'm getting an upgrade from the red store card to a VISA or AMEX, or is Macy's doing something else?

Personally, I LOVE Macy's. Macy's card + high-quality stuff + periodically insane deals = birthdays and Christmas lifesaver!!! And it's always good to be able to get a new pair of shoes or a suit for job-related occasions, interviews, etc. Lovelovelove my Macy's card. It's a lifesaver.

Macys has begun reporting CLs to the CRBs, which they weren't doing previously. This is just letting you know that your CL will be reported to the CRB and your statement will let you know what your CL is.

In other words, it will start to count for your Util #.

Re: Macy's CC question

My March statement shows a Credit Limit of $100 (it didn't show this before),and I have a message that says "Starting in JULY, my account will be based on the Credit Limit that will show below on my July Statement"......

I found this interesting and very promising because July will be my six month with the card so I'm thinking that I will Hopefully receive a CLI in July!!!! Because why would they specifically mention July?!  Keeping my fingers crossed.  I love Macy's and haven't really been able to use the card with that $100 spending limit.

I was just approved for Macy's with a $600 CL, denied for Kohl's!! I'd rather have the Kohl's but at least the Macy's card will help with utilization :smileyhappy: LOL

Re: Macy's CC question

True that.Nice work & congrats. Your limit should start reporting June or July on the big 3. My $100 limit hasn't reported in 3 years maybe 6 since I last checked my reports :smileyembarrassed:. Im on top of it know. Congrats again.

Re: Macy's CC question

If you wait three months and then go to the store to make a purchase, have one of the employees at the register call credit services for you.  Have the employee ask if they can increase your guideline as you are making a purchase.  This usually works.  I used to work for Bloomingdales (which is another Federated Store and uses the same credit system).  I was usually pretty successful in getting my customers increases since I was at the POS.  When I stopped working there, I had my friends who still were do the same for me.  It wasn't long before I got my CL up to 7,900.00.  I could probably get it higher, but I haven't bothered since they stopped reporting the CL on CRs.  As soon as Macy's and Bloomingdale's start reporting again, I'll definitely go back to that plan.
