So even when they stopped reporting CL to reports they didn't change my spending line... Bring back the CL to my report please!!! that would really help.
was this on your store card?

yes this is store account.
I have the Macy's Black Amex also but that CL has always been there.
my store card account info still says just the balance info which is 0 but no CL. I haven't used the card in quite a few months which might be why. My next closing date is in a few days. I'll check again then. It's good to hear that they are getting back on track again
I just check the automated system and it told me I can spend up to $3600. I owe $0. I used the card two months ago.
Ron.
Cool, same as right before they stopped reporting here to, despite very minimal usage since then.
Just called. I have the plain old red store card with a $0 balance. The system said my balance is $0 with $2k availiable to spend. It then went on to say that they are working to establish CL's for all Macy's store accounts by early 2012!
I called into to speak to a rep and she showed the same store limit I've had for the last 2 years... $1500. Amex limit is $8k. Guess I'll have to buy some stuff for xmas there...hmmm
Interesting thread bumpage...I hope they do report CLs again...only after I pay off mine.
I called too. DW's CL went up by $60 after a CLD from $1500 to $740 over 2-3 years ago. Mine went from $3200 to $1100 and my Bloomies dropped from $2200 to $1000. But I handn't called and checked since they slashed it back in 2/2010 (or before that IIRC) and I only use it 1x/yr at best.
Probably someone else caught this already, but for the first time, I noticed a CLI request on my Macys. I don't recall its existence before.
I wonder if they are going back to reporting credit limit based on consumer feedback, or if they always intended to, once they made these 'legal changes'.
@Anonymous wrote:Macy's and Bloomingdale's are owned by the same company which is why neither were able to give out the "Credit Limits" on the accounts. Neither company ever had credit limits, they had guidelines. Legally guidelines don't have to be given on statements, online, or over the phone because purchases are allowed over the guideline to a degree. The two companies were going through some legal changes throughout the 2011 year which prohibited the associates from giving out the requested information. However, they are now finished with the changes so customers can now get their available credit. Have fun shopping hope this helps!!
I had been wondering the same thing about these Macy store cards. I had talked to someone once when I called the hotline and they told me they didn't provide credit limits to their store account customers. After reading this thread, I called the number again only this time l used the automated machine and after putting in my account number was told my balance was $0 and that I had an available balance to spend of $100. It said that it was subject to change and not considered a credit limit. They called it a "guideline amount". Though it sounded like a credit limit to me. It also said it would start issuing store card credit limits in early 2012.
