Macys blacklist 2014

I couldn't find any recent posts about Macys and their infamous blacklist.

I assume they still do, but I was thinking it might be FUN to app and see what happens.

Since Macy's was IIB, I was on their blacklist.  However, I decied to call the recon #.   It took another HP (arg!) but once they verified that I was more than 4 years out of BK, they approved me with a $600 revolving line.   I quickly added a $2900 Special Events line and was able to get the revolving line up to $1200 after only 3 statements.  So you can get yourself off their blacklist, in some circumstances.

The Special Events line is used for promotional financing for major items, like mattresses.   You can call the number on your card and ask about opening a Special Events line or you can ask about in-store when making a major purchase.   Personally, I think it's better to call in before making a major purchase, so there are no surprises.

Re: Macys blacklist 2014

Now back on topic....

What annoys me about Macy's is that they pull your CR even when they already have you scarlet lettered in their system.

Just not worth having their useless INQ sitting on my file for 2 yrs.

I think it was 2009 when I apped and I thought they would check their own database before looking at my CR.

I'm blacklisted with Target and they didn't even pull when I apped.
