Okay so has any1 ever requested a cli online through the macys.com website? And if so was it a SP or HP???? Sister wants to make a purchase online but her doesnt card doesnt cover it all because her cl is only $300 and her total of purchase is $490. Thanks!
The online CLI request is only for Macy's AMEX...not the regular store card.
She'll have to call.
For what it's worth, I've called exactly once and got a nice increase.
Request applies only to the Macy's American Express® account credit line used to make purchases outside our stores.
BARNICLES!!!!!! lmao. Just noticed that. Thanks @tcbofade when you did via telephone was it a HP OR SP also how much did they bump you?
SP on Experian, if memory serves...I know that it was NOT a HP anywhere...
CL was $100 for a couple of years...I called them last year and they asked me if $800 would be OK...I said yes, and was (and am) very happy with that, but methinks that I could have asked for more...
Good luck!
Ohh thanks for this info. Shell just have to wait until 2morrow. She recently opened it on April 2012 and has had decent usage. BUT hasnt used it in the past 3 months do you think that would not allow her to get an increase??
Thanks! Ill tell her to do that. For now we'll submit the order and just pay the balance so they can see recent usage like you mentioned. thanks@LS2982
You can also request a credit limit increase through the chat function if you prefer that over talking on the telephone. They soft Equifax about every three months with me and use that when I ask for an increase.
The form says it is only for the American Express branded card, but when I used it the female asked if I would want the increase on the store card or the American Express card, so she may have been mistaken or they haven't updated the website. It was a hard inquiry on Experian when I used the form but it was worth it.
Yes, you can only request a CLI for the store account through the online Chat or via phone (1-866-593-2543) and unfortunatelly, there's no way to know if they´re gonna HP or SP your report while requesting an increase... I believe most of the time it'd be a soft pull (it might depend on how strong her credit profile was in last AR) Just keep in mind your sister might end up with a hard inquiry in her Experian report
We'll ask them via chat if they do a SP o HP as well, thanks guys for all your responses!
