Macys reporting weird!

I logged onto Credit Karma and say that my Macys card had been shown as "removed from my credit report" and subsequently added back on. I thought it was becase of the switch but its still listed as the same lender. Whats worse is that even after it reported as a new account, it still shows my old credit line of $2800 and my old balance of $1333. Call me crazy but I'd love for that $10K credit line and $0 balance to show up. What gives?

Re: Macys reporting weird!

I haven't checked my CK lately,  but on here, Macy's reported my mattress purchase from June as a new purchase on my existing account and my Eq score dropped. Then they zeroed out one account.

I don't think they have the reporting straight yet.

I find CK to be very...misleading at times. Have you checked your CRs from myFico?

Re: Macys reporting weird!

The best way to control utilization is to pay in full when due. That being said, they pretty much just started this whole process it seems like and there are likely bugs to be worked out of it. Until then, there isn't much you can do but follow the advice at the beginning of this post.

Re: Macys reporting weird!

I would go by what's on your actual credit reports instead of relying on Credit Karma. As you're aware, while useful to a certain extent, CK lacks accuracy when it comes to reporting some tradeline information. Have you accessed any of your actual reports to get a true picture on how it's reporting?

Keep in mind it may take a while for Macy's to catch up on reporting most of the recent changes.

Re: Macys reporting weird!

You can't see the actual reporting on here unless you pay more than the $24.95 a month fee.

Ck is good to see account by account reporting on TU and Eq of course disregarding their scores.

That was a typo I corrected via edit.

Re: Macys reporting weird!

Before reading this I had just checked CK.  Mine shows removed and added, the new account reflects my updated limit.  Yours will probably update when they report next I would think.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.
