Making sure I don't check my credit too early

So I just cleared the balances on my two credit cards down to $0. I got my first credit card in December '07 and now that I'm past the 6 month mark, I'm really eager to get a few more credit cards, check how many hard inquiries I have, and most importantly, find out my credit scores.

I'll probably be purchasing the three CRA scores from myFICO, but I definitely don't want to do it before my credit issuers report to the CRAs.

My next closing date on both cards is the 20th. When should I check my score to make sure that everything has posted up? I have a Chase Amazon Student Visa and a First National Bank Omaha College Visa.

If they are both on the 20th, I would pull on the 1st of next month. That way, it is enough time for them to update to the CRAs, the CRAs to update your balance themselves, and, also any boost for having your accounts age another month.
Here we go again...

I'm not sure you should show zero bal.  sometimes that causes your scores to go down.  even a little 10 dollars showing is enough to have the using credit help scores. Anybody???????? i find pulling scores around the 25th is good.

Annie, please be aware that because everybody's statement dates on their cards are different, and since everybody has cards that report on different dates, the optimal date to pull scores will likewise be different for everybody.

Sean you can sign up for free chase id protector (free for 30 days) (or one of many other free like services). I like chase, because they refund your lastest fee when you cancel and the free 30 days is nice too.

You can get unlimited credit reports.  When you see that the CRA's have posted on your freebie service, then you'll know when to pull your scores.

It used to be once a day with 24 hours and a minute between pulls.

They used TC

OK, TY, MV.  I didn't know it was TC behind the scenes.

No, I believe that you can get an updated report as many times/day as you want.
