Matrix Card from Continental Finance (by Discover)

I've started getting emails for this.  Fortunately I don't need cards for poor credit any more.  But weren't these people effectively shut down for misconduct in the past?

Not sure about that. (Maybe they started up again?)

A while back I signed up with a link through credit karma for a matrix discover card, but was instantly approved for a discover more, which a much higher line that the matrix would have.

My ultimate credit wish,
a JP Morgan Palladium card

Was your Matrix card through Continental Finance?  I think it's offered by various issuers.  Bing search shows nothing good for this issuer.

Re: Matrix Card from Continental Finance (by Discover)

Yup...that is Continental Finance.  My partner received one about 3 months ago WITHOUT my knowledge or I certainly would have shredded it.  SUPER HIGH interest rate, low limit, and crazy annual fee.  His scores are well about 690 across the board and he has multiple high limit cards.  He was trying to raise his scores to above 720 and THOUGHT that you did it by having MULTIPLE CARDS NO MATTER WHAT the limits!  UGH!!  I immediately sent him to my fico for some education and he was completely FLOORED by what was here.  He has Amex Green and Gold, Citi Simplicity, US Bank, and a few other cards.  I also discovered on Friday that he'd also gotten a First "Plummeteer" (Premier) bank Platinum card FOR WHICH he also had to pay a $75 annual fee!!!   All i can tell you is READ THE FINE PRINT!  Pay attention to everytning in the disclosure BEFORE you decided to apply and/or take the offer. I am not as well versed in this as some others, but PLEEEEEEEEEEASE do your reseach.  I found out the hard way.

P.S. First Plummetter is also offering a Ceridian card (along with their so-called "Forward" and other lovely-named cards).  AS PRETTY AS THEY MAY LOOK, STAY AWAY!!  I STOPPED my partner ONE NIGHT while he was in the middle of completing the app. for the Ceridian card.  I wish there was some type of "auto-garden" button you could choose and the only way to take it off was with some sort of painful bio identification (an eyelash, a back hair, SOMETHING).  :-)
