Max no of Amex personal cards?

What is the max number of Amex personal cards you can have? (I'm not including business cards). Right now I have Zync, Delta Gold and BCP. I'm interested in SPG, higher tier charge card and maybe their HH card.

I seem to remember reading that 5 is the max. Is this correct?

Re: Max no of Amex personal cards?

I've heard 4 is the max, but I'm not sure.

If you get denied it's a SP, so I guess just keep applying until they say you can't have anymore. Smiley Tongue

Re: Max no of Amex personal cards?

I'm going for SPG in June or whenever my 3 month trial gets rescheduled. 80 night stay should go nicely on that card.

Re: Max no of Amex personal cards?

5 Upon opening your Card Account, and by February 15 of each subsequent calendar year it is open, you will receive from Starwood credit for 2 stays toward your Starwood Preferred Guest Elite status and credit for 5 nights toward your Starwood Preferred Guest Elite status. This benefit is limited to one annual 2 stay credit and one annual 5 night Elite status credit per Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card account. You will not receive additional 2 stay or 5 night Elite status credits if you have multiple Card Accounts. Credits and status are subject to terms and conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest program.

I read it on their website. Is that mean you can have 7 free night every year ????

Like Walt, I've gotten 4 before at one time.  So, it's at least that much.

Re: Max no of Amex personal cards?

@nicolasyud, those are not free nights. Those stays/nights just count toward elite status, and it is not cumulative, it is stays or nights. So you can hit gold/platinum with 2 fewer stays or 5 fewer nights. You can combine with a business card to get 4 stay/10 night credits.
