Hi All,
Trying to figure out my gardening plan for the end of the year/starting next year, and I have a question about GE cards and their limits.
I have three currently, and they're listed here with their respective credit lines: Walmart - $1200, PayPal Smart Connect - $1700, Amazon - $1900.
As I plant myself more firmly in prime territory I want to minimize my number of cards with low credit lines, and only want to keep cards that will grow with me.
Would love to hear feedback from those with GE cards, specifically related to what your current CLs are...
Thanks. ![]()

I have a Care Credit with CL of 3k. I tend to believe GE card limits generally depend on the affiliate.

The ones that I know personally are Walmart at 10k and amazon also at 10k. I do have a PayPal mc and the max CL is 15k, not sure if it's the same for smart connect. Just keep the ones that still have some benefit for your situation. Considering closing some of my he cards. Have way more then needed.. Lol
This is good to know.
I'll probably always keep the Walmart just for the free TU score, and maybe the Amazon card, too - I love Amazon, and they do have 0% financing at times. I really don't see any need to keep the PayPal card long-term, but there's no annual fee and it helps my overall utilizaton right now as the balance is $0, so who knows... ![]()
I just want to make sure that whatever I do end up keeping has the possibility of an increasing CL.

I have a Lowes' Card, opened in 3/08, started with a 2k limit, now at 8500.00 Dillard's Amex opened 3/11 with 1700 limit, now at 7k, Walmart opened 7/07 with 800 limit, now at 3550.00. The Lowe's seems to be at its max, especially since I don't use it alot. They have declined my last 2 CLI's. Dillard's and Walmart have granted increases every 4th statement, Walmart is more conservative with the amount of the increase they have given.
the key seems to be regular use, not alot of charges but just something every 2-3 months especially if trying to get an increase.

My Lowes started at $1,200 in 03/2011 - now at $10,000
My JCP started at $300 in 07/2010 - now at $5,000
I just got increases on these, so I am not sure if they are maxed, although I could swear some people have $15k at Lowes.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. ![]()
It looks like the GE cards will continue to grow for quite a while yet (i.e. I have plenty of growth room left on my CLs), so I will consider just keeping them all. If I can get them up to around the $4-5,000 range within the next 2 years, I'll be happy. At that point I'll just close any that don't have the higher limits, and the others will go to the sock drawer to help with utilization and AAoA (got them all in 2009)...
Thanks again.
