Ok so I called and they guy told me it was denied, check the application status and... "Thank you for applying for the Platinum Card(R). We're writing to let you know we cannot approve your application at this time because American Express cancelled your previous account(s)".

 

Well maybe at some point in the future if I ever receive something from them.

Sorry to hear that..AMEX has a memory like an elephant and they will hold a serious grudge!!! Generally you have to pay them in full if you've ever burned them before they even think of extending credit again...

I burned them in 94-95..I am going to wait until next year or 2015...maybe they will forget after 20 years. LOL

About 20k. I had a 6k balance, the merchant double charged me...Amex refunded 6k, then the merchant 6k. It took almost a year before they caught on. I was young and shady then...LOL
