Merrick Bank credit card. Should I accept their offer?

This is the second time that I've received this offer from them -

$1000.00

24.2% APR.  Yes, it's high but I'd most likely pay it off monthly

Interest is charged if you don't pay off the balance so there is a grace period

No annual fee

It would be the highest APR that I have and also the highest CL.

Have read mixed reviews about them.  Any feedback?

Thanks!

Hey pozativelyliving!  Welcome to the Forums!!

I used Merrick Bank as a rebuilder.  It was a good rebuilder because there is no AF and they do give CLIs for good behavior.  (They don't however allow request for CLIs unfortunately).  If you have a thin file, then I say go for it especially if it will be your highest CL.  They were really good to me.

I also used Merrick as a rebuilder.  They offered a much higher initial CL than many other lenders at the time and there was no AF or monthly fee associated.  I also recieved a few CLIs while I had the card.  It deffinitely served its purpose and helped me to rebuild my credit so I was able to get "better" cards down the road.  If you are able to PIF every month, the APR doesn't really matter.

Current:
TU (5/14/14): 796 (Inquiries; 8/23/13)
EQ (3/23/14): 791 (Inquiries: 8/23/13)
EX (9/24/13): 780 (Inquiries: 7/2/12; 11/20/12; 7/30/13; 8/23/13)

Goals: No new inquiries for 2014, 800 for all CRs by 12/31/14

With noio annual fee its a no brainer for a rebuilder card and expect to get auto CLI of about 200 every 6 months or so (maybe longer )
