Mid-cycle reporting request to Chase or Citi?

I have two significant payments to Chase and Citi that posted on statement close date, but after the reports to the bureaus.

Will either Chase or Citi report current balances between cycles if requested?

if so, is there any downside to me in making the request?

Maybe someone else can provide data on Citi cards.

I have noticed that Chase might originally report your statement balance upon closing date. However, if you pay it in full later, it will also update to report zero balance mid cycle.

Correct, Chase will report again if you pay to zero and zero only.

Citi will not do mid cycle reporting afaik.
