Last Friday I decided to apply for a few credit cards (one of them may have been Thursday) not thinking I would be too succesful. Here are my results:
And to think, before March I had NO credit cards and the only things in my credit reports was a revolving account that has been closed since 2005 and a paid/released tax lien from 2006.
Thank you everyone here in the myFico community.
Congrats!
I know the advice and support here is second to none but you had to do all the hard work.
Congratulations.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 10/10-813, TU - 10/10-774

- AMEX Zync - APPROVED
- Citi Forward - APPROVED Limit: $5000 (now my highest)
- Barclay iTunes - Instantly Declined. Called for recon and was APPROVED for $2500. (If anyone would like details about the Recon feel free to ask)

Congrats on the new cards.
As I am not applying for this card it is irrelevant to myself but I will ask what the details are so others who do apply have an easier way of seeing what happened in your experience.
Thank you
The recon was actually pretty straight forward. I called the number listed in the backdoor thread. When the analyst answered, I told him I applied for and was declined a card. He then asked a few identity questions and my HHI. I was asked how much I was looking to spend with apple. I informed him that I really just wanted to use it like a regular revolving account, but that I am in market for a laptop. He then informed me that he approved me for $2500 and I should receive my card within 7-10 days.
That was it.
Lucky.... I was on the phone with Discover for nearly 45 minutes, still denied!

Discover has lost it's luster with me. I manage the business card that is in my moms name, when she originally applied over 2 years ago, they would not issue anymore credit than the $8600 she had on personal card, so we moved $2200 to the business card and they opened it... Flash forward to maybe beginning of this year and they started CLD the business account, 3 times now and it's at $900 now... Don't really use it anymore now that it reports to personal credit but just thought it was silly for them to take away like $200 at a time.
