More CC Approvals Around Christmas?

Has anyone notice whether or not CC companies (especially stores) tend to be more generous with application and CLI approvals around around Christmas time?

Normally maybe, this year may be an exception. Spending is likely to decline so they have less of an incentive to lower their standards.

This year, I doubt it. Unless people and companies are cheerful with the election results and things might look optimistic. As of today, I doubt if there would be new credit approvals due to christmas.

If it helps you at all I went shopping today and was approved for a Lerner's NY card with $1k limit and asked for and received a CLI from $850 to $1100 from Dillard's.

My average score = 650
