Moving Abroad and Credit Cards

Hi all,

I may be moving abroad, to Thailand. I know CCs give you the option of letting them know about foreign travel, but what about going overseas for a few years? Is this okay with them? Do they see some sort of a credit risk?

The other issue I'll need to deal with is my CL on my Discover is by far the highest, yet that card is virtually useless in Thailand.

Starting scores (June 9,2012): 591(TU), 582(EXP), 591(EQUI)
Current score: 721 (Discover Fico)
Goal scores: 761 across the board

Re: Moving Abroad and Credit Cards

when I was living abroad for five years, I still kept my capital one and discover card with me, I just changed my mail address to my parents' in U.S. I didn't even bother to let both card company know that I would be using card overseas. The reason why I kept them open was to use the card while i'm visiting in U.S. and use Danish credit cards while living over there.
