My Green card statement just closed and the AF of $95 is now due. I just don't use the card any more since I've got both my Costco Amex and a BCP from them. Was just curious if anyone has been able to get it waived, reduced, a retention bonus offer to keep it open? I'll probably close it anyway but just wondered what others have done.
Thanks!!

I'm curious as well on this topic, IMO I doubt AMEX would budge on it.
I kind of doubt they'll budge too... but not a biggie. I'd like to get the Delta Gold card down the road so I do have my eye on a potential replacement
Thanks for the link. Looks like the Green card is gonna hit the shredder. I still have the other two with room if another good offer comes along
So I did some research on the AmEx website after reading the FT thread (no can do to have AF lowered) so I looked at the Zync card and the Packs associated with it and figured the Home Pack (with the $20 Lowe's GC each year + $15 GCs with $150 spend) would be a decent card to switch to for a $40 AF. Just got off the phone with a very nice CSR (gotta love AmEx for that!) and had the card switched. Very easy and I think this card will work well for my needs right now. The local Lowe's has a fantastic Garden dept. with a very knowledgeable saleslady there who is awesome! The Green card just didn't meet my expectations and I have the other two cards that I use a lot more.
Next up... Chase Southwest and Citi AAdvantage to be switched or cancelled.

Good call ~ although the MR express points aren't as valuable, it is very easy with only a $25 AF to get the card to pay for itself, and the packs will usually pay for themselves too.
that's what I figured by calculating how much I would spend on the card particularly at Lowe's and home furnishing stores. I don't really need to transfer points to a FF program as I have plenty of those already (love those sign-up bonuses ) I'm doing a lot of remodeling projects on my house so I'll put this card to use for that. Just wish they included the 2x points at Home Depot too... but oh well. Can't have everything!!
