My Wish List - 1 Year

In the past few months I have opened a number of accounts, PLUS bought a house so I am definitely high on inquiries and new accounts right now!  My AAoA is right at 5 years, so I need to get that up a bit.

My new cards are:

Chase Freedom

Citi Thank You

USAA Rewards Amex

USAA Rewards Mastercard

Discover Miles

DCU

Home Depot

GECRB Care Credit

Obviously more apps than i needed but truthfully I did not expect to get all of them.

Now I am setting my goals for 12 months out:

US Bank Cash+ Sig

Chase Sapphire Preferred

Barclays Broncos NFL Sig

My scores are all hanging in there, ranging from 706-729 with all new accounts reporting (except DCU).  I figure if I let my current ones age right now, maybe grow a little, and just wait out the next 12 months all should be well next summer when its time to app for these cards.

Thoughts?  Am I approaching it wrong?

Nice!

My wish list:

AMEX Delta Gold Personal (Next week)

AMEX Delta Gold Business (Next week)

AMEX SPG (SPRING '12)

CITI AA MC (Summer '12)

CITI AA VISA (Summer '12)

It'll probably change, but either way it'll be a good year for flyer miles.

Re: My Wish List - 1 Year

Why not through the Amex BCE/BCP in there?  Everyone has to eat.

Also, unless you need a 0% FTF card, I would set my sight solely on the US Bank CASH+.  That card is not going to last long in it's present form IMHO, so jump on it sooner rather than later.

Amex BCP/Zync - Barclays NFL Visa Sig 49ers - BoA Travel Rewards - Cap 1 Cash Rewards - Citi Forward/Preferred - Chase Amazon/Freedom - Discover IT - Fidelity Amex - GECRB Amazon/Walmart - PenFed PRV - Target - US Bank CASH+

It's a very long story )over the span of about 6 years) but Amex is on my blacklist for good.  I have cancelled their cards twice over the last 6 years (decided a few months ago to try again and had the same issues) so I have decided that American Express and I just do not get along!  I may jump at the US Bank card sooner rather than later and hope my banker can help me with underwriting.  I actually did not know about it until AFTER I opened the new cards and I have been afraid to apply for it, based on new accounts and inquiries, since then!!!

Re: My Wish List - 1 Year

Let the AAoA and Inquiries age and you are on the right path.

I am aiming for the Chase Disney Card for next year. Perhaps walmart to have a TU score, but I am unsure if adding a walmart card affects how prime lenders view my file.

I was thinking along the lines of adding sub-prime cards would make me look more at-risk for prime lenders. I haven't really done much research in this area so I am unsure.
