My corrected MSD amex replacement has a chip?

Received my new card 3 weeks ago with wrong MSD.. It was a paler green color and no chip. My replacement card is a darker shade and has a chip. Strange?

maybe they are sending the new Chip cards when you get a replacement.

Its just odd to me that its a replacement card only for the adjusted MSD 3 weeks after account opened. Hmm
