I am hoping to re-establish relationship with them again by the end of this year or early next year. I have included them in my bk back in Oct. 2003. I had one of their student card at the time. Anyone knows if they blacklist or not? Currently in Garden mode..

I am thinking to close out Dell, Paypal, Sears, Hooters, Chevron and Bloomingdales (of course not all at one time) and pulling a trigger on Chase Freedom or Slate. Do you guys think i have a chance?
Hmm... It looks like someone is addicted to CC applications .
But in all honestly, how do you manage to keep up with all the payments, i.e. amount of statement coming in the mail per month is crazy.
an addict is right. Well I am using Excel to help me out. At the same time, if possible I would ask creditors to change my close date to the last week of the month.
I'm at the point where I would really like to get a Prime card or two.
I really would like Discover, Citi, or Chase and to lose some of the lower limt players in my portfolio.
I don't think any of the above are all that BK friendly though. Chase is a definate no no for me since I burned them in my bk.
Hammer23, I also get approved for a Discover Cash Back Bonus in December of 2011 with CL of $4000. I guess I have missed that one on the list. So I think you should be good with Discover..

I tried them in the fall with a FICO of 678 and was TD'd due to my bankruptcy. I called back to RECON and they said they will not approve with the BK. I know that is inaccurate based on what I have read here, however I figured I would wait until my utilization is low and my score recovers. My BK will be discharged 3 years in March, so maybe I'll wait till April and try again. Most of my accounts will be over a year by then too.
yeah, you might want to wait until your BK is 7 years or older. It is working for me....I just want to add Chase into my profile and after that i will close out a majority of all my cards and only keep a few (Amex, BofA, Nordstroms, Discover and Lowes Visa). The rest can go, the first to go is Cap1. I have been trying for a CLI or PC for the past 3 years without any luck at all..

I did not know there was a Lowes Visa card... That is cool.
My ultimate goal would be 4 cards:
My Credit Union Visa (BFG) 8.9% fixed rate. --- GOT IT!
Wells Fargo Visa -- Hope this will grow with me as far as the limit --- GOT IT!
Discover Rewards Card --- Working toward this one
Citi Platinum Select --- Working toward this one as well.
I would more than likely sock drawer the ones with no AF and close the rest with AF.

From what I understand, 5 and 7 years are magic dates post BK.
I've had creditors turn me down flat after 4 years 10 months that approved me after 5 years wthout a problem. My cards are getting more prime every year!
You guys are doing great! I only have my USDA mortgage and 1 visa card through my credit union. My BK7 was discharged in 11/07. I am always so hesitant to even try for a new card, I guess I have a fear of rejection.
So I found out today that I need some dental work done (lucky me!) so I applied for Care Credit (with 2 kids and I dog I'm sure I'll use it) I was approved for a $1000 line.
My question is that First Premier is my oldest account post BK. Will it hurt me to close it?
