Went to Best Buy this evening to purchase a 55" LCD and a 39" LCD along with the home theater system including warranty and install. I just closed on a house 2/6/13 and my family needed some TVs.. It cost way more than I expected...$3,036! And I would have to put a lot more cash into it due to my measly credit limits. So I decided to apply for a Best Buy credit card and I was approved for $2500! So stoked!!! :-) I was afraid I would get that dreaded $500 limit everyone here talks about as I have about 8 inquiries now. But i just did it just to see since I closed on the house and didn't care as much about a denial. I don't know which of the two cards i got...anyone want to make a guess? So now my total credit limit is $7100! I wasn't planning on apping until June but the Best Buy card still allowed me to pay $750 in cash and put the remainder on the card. I didn't have to touch my Freedom and it has a zero dollar balance. My yearly bonus comes in about 3 weeks so I plan on paying the balance in full even though it comes with 0% indroductory APR for 24 months. Because I don't want the high utility to tank my score even though I won't be applying for anything for awhile. I just don't like watching my score go down...even if it is temporary.
So off to the garden I go!
