Kept hearing about the NASA CU "elsewhere", so I nosed around their website. Found this.
A NASA CU CC for a 16 year old. No annual fee and a favorable 12.9% rate. Not a bad way to get your teenager introduced to responsible credit behavior at a young age.
You don't need to work for NASA to belong to the CU. You just have to join an approved association.
National Space Society is only $18 a year, and "Once you become a member of one of these associations and you join the Credit Union, you do not have to maintain your association membership in order to maintain your Credit Union membership."
Some report getting a CL upwards of $50K with NASA CU.
