Re: NEW: Discover it Miles Credit Card

It looks comparable to the Cap1 QS with 1.5 rewards; but it looks like rewards are limited to travel whereas QS rewards can be applied to anything.

$30 a year for in-flight wi-fi...that's a new one.

Re: NEW: Discover it Miles Credit Card

The rewards aren't limited -- you can redeem as cash for full value. It is essentially the Quicksilver with miles instead of cash, but it's 1.5% no matter what.

The only real benefit above Quicksilver is the first year doubled miles thing. After that, it's the same thing.

It looks like you actually can have it direct deposited into your checking for cash:

"Starting at 1 Mile, you can redeem for cash as a electronic deposit to your bank account"

This. This is the part that caught my eye. 1.5x rewards is nothing new, but the WiFi reimbursement for a no-AF card is pretty awesome.

Re: NEW: Discover it Miles Credit Card

its an interesting card but i don't see much about any signup bonus, so i am trying to figure out what would make this better than any other just plain old 2% cashback card?

Re: NEW: Discover it Miles Credit Card

Instead of x amount of miles for a signup bonus they double whatever miles you have earned for the year, which is cool because you can kind of make your own signup bonus.

If you have a Fid Amex or DC, this isn't better. If you don't, it kind of is, at least for year one.

That and the $30 in in-flight WiFi credit. Now it would be even better if they expanded that to up-to a $30 credit a year for any airline incidentals.

Re: NEW: Discover it Miles Credit Card

Since I don't have a Discover:  when do they credit the rewards, as transcations post or at statement close?

This has the same no minimum redemption that Cap One has, just wonder if it matches the instant availability as well.

If you don't have a Discover card already, then it one ups the QS with free FICO scores and access to Discover Deals.
