NFCU Acceptance Number Letter

Got a letter in the mail today wondering if I wanted to apply for the nRewards card(joined in Dec.). It gives an acceptance # to enter when applying. Was going to wait a few months but,.....  Anyone get this letter? Is it like a pre-approval( no sure thing), or something better or just a random letter sent to all members? Did not mention anywhere that it was a pre-approval, just gave an acceptance #. Thanks for any info.

Re: NFCU Acceptance Number Letter

I joined last February, got Flagship Visa and LOC. Got the letter about a month ago and decided to apply for it Jan 15.  I don't think it's a preapproval letter but I gave the acceptance number to the CSR and it took 5 days for approval.  However, you know you can't really go wrong with NFCU. They're my fav!!

Re: NFCU Acceptance Number Letter

My sister just received this letter about a week ago.  She was turned down two months ago (550 fico), but approved after calling in with the acceptance number.  Her approval took about 4-5 days. She was approved for a $1500 nRewards MC.  HTH!

Re: NFCU Acceptance Number Letter

I received a letter too. I tried entering the number on the website, but it says it doesn't match my member id.

I applied last month for the nRewards with a 620 EQ and was denied. I had two collections -- one five years and the other almost seven years old for a total of $200 along with three chargeoffs (two reporting 0 balance once was reporting $7,500). I've had a student loan with no lates that is six years old along with two CCs the past 12 months. My income is $75,000. I couldn't believe I was denied, however I was offered the secured card. sad.gif

Now I have two COs instead of three like last month (on EQ). My two collections should be deleted any day now. After my last baddie falls off on EQ in July the only negative thing I'll have is four 30 day lates that range from 4-6 years old. I'm planning on applying for the nRewards again (using the acceptance number) this month after my two collections fall off. If I get denied again this month then I will reapply in July.

Re: NFCU Acceptance Number Letter

Did you apply? NFCU has been very nice to me. I started with  a secured card, refinanced my auto loan and got a 5000 line of credit for the NAVCHEK. My secured hits the year mark in March- I might try to get a mortgage through them after the year. I'm curious if they will up the amout- It's secured at 1000 now.

Re: NFCU Acceptance Number Letter

I applied again and got the 3-5 business day notification. I ended up being approved for $17,500. Smiley Happy This is the one and only BANK card that I really wanted and won't be applying for anymore.

Re: NFCU Acceptance Number Letter

Congrats iltph!   I still haven't applied yet. Waiting for BOA card to hit 1 year mark next month but am getting itchy after seeing your post. Did you apply online using the acceptance # ?. And did you need to send in POI,etc. afterwards.?

Re: NFCU Acceptance Number Letter

No, the acceptance number wouldn't work for me online so I called and applied. I didn't have to provide POI. I switched my wife and mine's direct deposit over to our checking account with them over a month ago so they could have just seen the direct deposits for proof.
