I have never heard of this ONLY take validation in person thing... many places in the country will have no branches within multiple states!!!
snail mail is annoying but usually allowed for these things... fax and email are what is not.
they might require you to have it notarized or something.
Amazing how this plays out for some. I myself would walk the 64 miles for a 25k limit.
