Well scupra, did you pull the trigger?

I did, I applied for the cashRewards card on friday and recieved a text message this morning, "Your credit card has been approved! Thanks for choosing Navy Federal, expect your card in 7-10 days."

Yesterday I got a credit karma alert that a new hard inquiry has been listed, so for some odd reason they pulled my TU, I am in AZ if this helps anyone. I didn't really want another HP on my TU report, but for an approval I am ok with it. Only downside is the limit, $500. I was hoping to get at least $1,000 but Im ok with the $500 because I know it will grow with me. I think they looked at my secured card through them ($500 limit) and figured I was doing good and gave me the same limit lol. Happy building everyone!

I am only 4 months post BK7, I was expecting a denial and planning to recon and ask for a low starting limit at the least.. Them pulling TU and not EQ was very surprising to me though!

Re: NFCU CC Chances

That tells me you probably could have gotten it even before the secured card.  When I app after discharge, I will let you know if they ask me to secure it or  not.

I'm your neighbor in Colorado, but I hope they pull EQ, my TU has been dinged up quite a bit thanks to getting a car in November.

I think you might be right. Well I can deal with using it and requesting CLI's, the approval alone is good enough for me! haha, good luck. Im curious to see who they pull for you!

Re: NFCU CC Chances

I joined NFCU last week and applied for the cashRewards  and was approved for 1k,  I was happy but not really satisfied so I decided to apply for the nRewards the next day and got approved again for  1k, I"m like, is that all I can get per card? so crazy me, I decided to apply for the Platinum visa this last Saturday thinking, ok they'll  either declined me or give another 1k, more likely denied me, So this morning I checked my e-mail and said that I was approved for 5k. Now I am very satisfied.

Thank you NFCU. I just wished I should have applied for the Platinum first.....lol.

I just wanted to say, thank you everyone for all the helpfull information is this forum.

Thank you!

I am 5 months post bk, and they gave me a low limit too. Even though people with lower scores are getting a higher credit limit, I think with bk's, they are playing it safe. It probably will take a little longer for us to see a nice increase, imo.

Re: NFCU CC Chances

No, you can be in any of the armed service branches or have a close relative that is in the military. My brother is currently in the Navy so I signed up through him, best thing I could have done to help my credit story!
