NFCU CLI

Since I got denied for PenFed I've been thinking of shifting my balance over to my NFCU Mastercard. I called and asked if I was eligible for a CLI, and I got an instant approval. New CL is $20,000. Since it wasn't referred to the credit committee I'm reasonably sure it was an auto CLI based on my account history. However, I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Hey Fretless,

Congrats on the Navy Fed CLI!!!

When you call over the phone and get an automatic

increase, that's an auto-CLI. It's based on an EQ soft pull

and your payment history with Navy Fed. So always make

sure you pay your Navy Fed accounts on time.

I opened them all last April, so I'm approaching the 1 year mark. I got a CLI in October from $15,000 to $18,000 with a hard pull. And today they instantly approved me from $18,000 to $20,000.

Thanks a lot CanDo! Seeings how payment history goes so far with NFCU it makes the thought of BT'ing my BOA balance over to them more appealing since my payment history will continue to grow.

Sorry, cross thread confusion and such. PenFed said it was because of DTI. They didn't like my defered student loans apparently.

I applied for a NFCU card last week with a 740 Fico and was told I needed a to get a secured card. I guess they have started a new policy which forces new members to open up a secured card. Anyone else had this happen?
