Why are people so anti-annual fee? As long as it works for you...as in will you pay $49 to get a 5K limit? LOL I sure did.
Plan to PC to Cashrewards later. If getting that new high limit is important to you, I think you should accept the fee, hang with the card for a while then PC to a no fee product.

Never said I was against it.. If NFCU is willing to give you $5k on the siggy why wouldnt they give it to you on any other card though? Im sure the fee is because of the extra perks which seem cool if you would use them. Sh*t I would almost pay the fee for the sweet black design haha
NFCU can be very generous when you are credit challenged however with the ability to clean things up in short order I would recommend the wait and begin the direct deposit with them. There is enough anecdotal evidence from members of the forum that a direct deposit relationship often leads to somewhat higher starting credit limits. Your starting APR will be dependent on your credit score at application but with improvement they will lower it later. And they also do auto CLI's at 1 year and 18 months or most people.
One word of warning for all who are new or considering NFCU. If you ever default on them you can forget getting back with credit in most cases. They are more unforgiving than AMEX and even if you eventually pay them back they rarely approve future credit products. But treat them right and they will be your BFF in credit candy land.
