Re: NFCU Questions

Thanks!

I'm kinda scared to apply for the LOC, even after he got the nice CL.

Re: NFCU Questions

Dont be... NavCheck will grow over time, and if you never use it, there is no AA, nor will they decrease your LOC.  It can come in handy, definately.  It comes with its own checkbook so its just like writing a check...  I love my NavCheck

Re: NFCU Questions

It comes in handy when you want to use credit to pay for something, but you dont want to pay a "convenience fee"

it saves a lot of money for either you or the merchant to write a NavCheck vs swiping a card.

I got it to pay my contractor, who is a small business man... I didn't think it was fair for him to pay the 2.8% swipe fees on payments that were thousands of dollars

Re: NFCU Questions

That's a good point.

I'll research a good starting amount to ask for. Should it be about my CC limit?

Edit: I'm saying my, or our a lot when it's my boyfriends. But we are joint on the checking/saving. And I am an AU on the CC. Plus I handle the money.

Re: NFCU Questions

Webhopper, you are incorrect about NFCU not being inquiry sensitive.  I was just DECLINED for having too many inquiries @ 10 (and they were 3 of them).

That's the first decline I've heard of with them.  I had over ten inquiries on each bureau when I apped for both the CC and the LOC... as well as an auto refinance and a new car loan.  I was offered a 22k line on the CC, 15k line on the LOC. 4.09% on the used car loan, and 1.79% on the new car loan...

In my experience, they didn't care about my inquiries, but my score is strong... 680+

maybe your score was borderline?

Re: NFCU Questions

Adding again in case anyone looks at this for information.

Received all the disclosure information, and pamphlets today. His FICO was 691 and they pulled TU. Still no card though.
